This family is particularly special to me...Keri is one of Hannah's preschool teachers and is just one of the sweetest and kindest individuals you'll ever meet. And her two girls are Hannah's classmates, which we've gotten to know quite well- the entire family is just precious. Keri's husband, Will, was diagnosed with cancer last month and the doctors are desperately trying to determine exactly what type it is and what Will's treatment will be. Despite the fact that this family's life has been turned upside down, their faith in the Lord has not been shaken. The Steele's are not putting their hope in doctors or even medicine but in the goodness of our heavenly Father who is holding them in His loving arms. And it's that trust and peace that shines through their faces in these photos. I know the Steele's would covet your prayers during this difficult time and if you'd like to continue following along in this jounrey with them, they have a family blog you can check out here.

Reagan - 14 mos.

Reagan is one extremely blessed little girl....you see, she just came to America last month after being adopted by her new family. Not only did she gain a wonderful set of parents, she also got two big brothers. Reagan wasn't sure what to think of my camera and we had a hard time getting her to crack a smile (she finally did and wouldn't you know, it was while she was safe and secure in her mommy's arms). But considering all that she's been through in her short life and hearing how her parents rescued her from the deplorable living conditions at the Russian orphanage, I think Reagan did remarkably well. She's a sweet, inquisitive and active little girl who is now being showered with love by her new family and is thankfully and surprisingly healthy, despite her rough start. Reagan's story reminds me of God's promise to us..."For I know the plans that I have for you", declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future". Jermemiah 29:11. God has great plans for this precious little girl and I can't wait to see all that He has in store for her!

Busy season is FINALLY over and I'm taking a much needed break to spend some quality time with my family. As of Saturday, December 12, I am on Christmas holiday and won't be booking new sessions until January 5, 2010. Hi all! Just a quick note to let you know that the May 2nd Blooms Mini-Sessions are now full! I have a couple of morning slots still left on the April 30th Blooms sessions, so if you'd like one of those, call or email soon. The Haggard Park and Urban Mini's are booked up as well and I might consider opening up a few more spaces if I get enough interest. I'm really looking forward to doing these mini-sessions and can't wait to see everyone!

Not only are my mini-sessions nearly full, but so is my spring calendar. Unless you are a baby-planner or an expectant mother wanting a maternity or newborn session, I won't be booking any further shoots till this summer. More details to come on that in the near future.

This week's sneak peaks...

It's been a busy but fun week of photographing! Saturday night, I had the pleasure of capturing a surprise birthday event at The Mansion. I had never been there before and it was beyond spectacular (the food was to-die-for as well...thanks, Julius, for feeding me!). Next up was a family session (a group of thirteen!) at the Arboretum...we totally lucked out with phenomenal weather and got some great shots. Lastly, I got to see another one of my sweet, sweet baby-planners. Gabrielle is now three months old and is the spitting image of her pretty mama. She was quite generous with the smiles despite a little cold and I couldn't have been more pleased. Gabrielle's big sister, Audrey, was all smiles too and I couldn't resist snapping a few pics of her as well!

I'm not planning to work this weekend though...we're leaving Friday for Orlando to attend a wedding and visit Disneyworld...the girls are super excited and we are looking forward to some quality family time together. Have a great weekend, and thanks for looking!

Sweet Baby Boy

My good friend Amy and her husband Chris became first time parents to a precious baby boy last Tuesday. Part of my gift to Amy was to come out and photograph Grayson during his first week of life and it was such a joy to see this new little family together. Grayson was wide awake for most of the shoot and I was thrilled to be able to capture his beautiful blue eyes! He finally decided to get some shut-eye at the end of our session and was happiest snuggling in mom and dad's arms. Looking forward to seeing Grayson again in a couple of weeks when I bring dinner to his mommy and daddy!

First up....

Perfect for spring is the clean and classic look of Haggard Park complete with a gazebo, duck pond, wrought-iron bridge and old-fashioned train. Fee for the Haggard Park Mini-Sessions are $125 for a 25 min. session (up to four people & $10 per each additional subject).

Join me on the streets and alley ways of downtown Plano for my Urban Mini-Sessions. Be ready for some fun with colors, textures and architectural elements. Fee is $125 for a 25 min. session (up to four people & $10 per each additional subject).

And back by poplular demand are the Spring Blooms Mini-Sessions. These are for children only and will be held at the Dallas Arboretum on Thursday, April 30 and Saturday, May 2. Fee is $50 for a 15 min. session (up to one child & $10 per each additional child).

Fun to be 1...

Here's little William...just turned one last week and is as cute as can be. I especially loved photographing him with his cake...would you believe he didn't want it?? He kept pushing it away and made the funniest faces when he would bite into the icing...wish I had that problem with sweets. We ended the session with William in the tub and got some darling pics with him in there...it was the one place he actually stayed in one spot longer than 3 seconds!! This little one is a mover and a shaker and I'm already training for his 18 mos. session this summer where he's sure to be running circles around me..I can't wait!

I think my favorite baby stage is the three month mark...they've chunked up from the newborn stage but are still immobile, therefore being easier to photograph and just too cute for words. Little Miss Irelyn didn't disappoint! I could eat those cheeks up in a second and she so reminds me of my Hannah when she was that age...dark hair and rolls upon rolls of delicious chunk! Irelyn was such a good sport, letting her mama and I change her into different outfits and poses. It's hard to believe that when her next session comes around, she'll be sitting up and possibly crawling! Enjoy and thanks for looking. :)

This precious bundle was a dream to photograph...she didn't make a peep the entire time I was there! Her three (yes, THREE) older sisters were incredibly well behaved too and enjoyed holding their new baby sis for a few shots! Looking forward to photographing this family again soon.

Happy New Year, everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! I thoroughly enjoyed the break with my family and it was a tad bit painful yesterday being out of "vacation" mode. It's good to be back to our regular schedule though and I'm excited for the new year ahead.

My friend and fellow photographer, Kelly, shared with me how to upload larger photos onto my blog (thanks Kelly, I owe ya one, girl!). So, just trying it out and seeing what it looks like. I'm going to be making some slight changes to my blog that you'll be noticing here in the next week or so.

December Sneak Peak

What a fun week of photographing I've had! Tuesday, I photographed Jackson and his family at their home....I hadn't seen him since the May Blooms mini-sessions this past May (he's grown so much) and since then has become a big brother to sweet Cooper! What a couple of cutie-pies those boys were and so great in front of the camera.

Next up is precious Gabrielle...just 12 days old! She is much loved by her two older siblings, Connor and Audrey, and both were fighting to hold her...thankfully, they each got a chance! Gabrielle was happiest though in her mommy's arms but cooperated enough to be put down. She was quite alert and slept just long enough for me to snap some sleeping baby pics.

I plan to close up shop for Christmas break on Thursday, Dec. 18, so if you'd like to get in a photosession before the holidays, please let me know ASAP...I only have a few slots available! Otherwise, I'll be scheduling photosessions beginning Tues. January 6!

The little ones were especially cute and had a ball running around in the leaves. I think I will be doing more shoots out there...I had forgotten what a great spot it is!

Friday Fun

It was "Book Week" at Grace's school this past week and yesterday, she had the opportunity to dress up as her favorite book character....it didn't take her long to decide on "Fancy Nancy" and she was excited about wearing a tiara, boa and costume jewelry to school....I haven't seen her that excited to get out of bed and get dressed since the first day of class!

Our plans with friends got cancelled Friday morning due to some plumbing issues with the girls' bathtub, so Hannah and I spent the day at home. Hannah, being our budding chef, wanted to make brownies, so off to the kitchen we went. I think she enjoyed eating the batter more than anything...simple pleasures are the best! :)

Sweet Sisters in Red

The last time I photographed these two pretty girls, Lauren, the baby was only a newborn...so, it was so neat to see how much she had grown in the past six months! Lily especially loved exploring the arboretum...we could hardly keep up with her. Little Lauren enjoyed taste-testing the plethora of leaves and flower petals that were everywhere...thank goodness her mommy is faster than she is and was able to fish anything out before being swallowed! At one point, the girls' sweet mommy did a cart wheel to get the girls to look up...it worked like a charm and I got smiles out of them both, simultaneously! :)

I loved so many of the photos from my two sessions this morning that I'm going to post A LOT of them....but you will see why I couldn't choose....everyone is stunning, which made narrowing them down extremely difficult. Little Trooper

Meet my new baby planner- William! This precious boy was quite the trooper for his photoshoot yesterday. Not only was William in the throes of teething, he was also dealing with a double ear-infection...that's enough pain to make a grown man cry and this brave boy took it all in stride. He had a few fussy moments, but he would snap out of them in just a matter of seconds. I've never seen anything like it...William amazed me and his parents were the most patient and kind people you'll ever meet. Thanks, Diane, for referring your wonderful co-worker to me! :)

Tea Party

I spent a couple hours today over at Celebrity Cafe & Bakery in Plano to photograph a charity event they were doing in support of Kidd's Kids. They had the place all decked out in pink complete with an array of yummy (and pretty) goodies, tiaras, boas and beads. I know the little girls (and boys too!) who were there had a fabulous time and I had a fun time photographing them. I just wish my girls would have been up for attending (they were home with Daddy recovering from a mild tummy bug...that didn't stop me from bringing them home a few tasty treats!). I had the pleasure of photographing Addison today....she's been a regular client of mine for almost a year now, and when I saw her today WALKING, I couldn't believe my eyes... apparently, she's been upright and mobile for a couple of months now and is an old pro at the walking thing! These babies grow so fast!!!! We were able to get about half of our shoot in today before the rain came. Thankfully, we headed for cover under the gazebo to finish off the session. We weren't going to let a little rain ruin our fun. Thanks for braving the rain today guys...it was fun! Looking forward to seeing you again soon.

Blue-eyed Beauty

As much as I love my returning clients, I always enjoy meeting new ones. This was my first time to photograph this darling little girl and I certainly hope it isn't my last...she was the perfect model! Morgan just celebrated her 1st birthday and loved toddling around the Dallas Arborteum with her Mommy and Daddy (hope you guys enjoyed your first visit to the arbo!). She reminded me a little bit Grace at that age with her short blonde hair and bright blue eyes. I told Morgan's parents to savor every moment because they don't stay this little forever...it all goes by in a flash!

Early Morning Shoot

Today's photo-shoot had been booked since May, so I was very much looking forward to meeting this little family. They were such good sports to start so early, but it was the only way to do it in August and avoid the scorching heat. It was a comfortable 75 degrees when we started and the best part was the fact that we had the park all to ourselves....a first at this particular location that usually swarms with photographers. I hope to see more of this adorable family in the future!

I actually photographed this sweet family back in May when it was still somewhat cool...with our travels, birthday celebrations and hectic summer schedule, I am just now getting around to posting from their session....better late then never!

This handsome little guy belongs to one of my dearest friends. I was blessed to be able to do some headshots for a casting call he went on last month and guess what?...he was chosen to do some future print-ads and commercials. Keep an eye out for this future model!

Summer Sessions Sneak Peak

Jackson and Kate are two of the easiest children to photograph...first off, they are adorable beyond words and they both are completely laid back and compliant! Kate, who is now 9 mos. old, didn't fuss once during our entire session (which lasted about two hours!)...talk about impressive!

Next is my good friend, Wendy, who is quite possibly the most beautiful pregnant woman I've ever known. She and her husband are expecting their third baby and I'm so excited for them. Can't wait to meet the new little one this fall.

I'm a little behind on posting some sneak peaks from a few sessions I had back in the spring!

Do you remember the photo of the tiny newborn I posted back in January?...well, here he is three months later...and what a cute little chunk he grew into; I think his mom told me he was pushing 17 pounds at this point...amazing!

I had the best time working with this senior, Amanda, during her shoot at the Arboretum back in May. Photographing "big kids" is almost too easy and so much fun...it's quite a change from chasing toddlers around.

Sweet little Teagan was only a week old when I came out for her first session. She was such a delight and I even got to hold her for few moments while her mommy went to grab a new outfit...LOVE getting my baby fix at these newborn sessions and the best part is that I can just hand them back to mom when they need something. :)

Pretty Baby

Kate's mommy wanted to have her six month session at the Arboretum, and what a great decision that was! The weather on Saturday morning was exquisite and Kate was in a sweet mood. Her mommy brought her such darling outfits to wear and I captured lots of pretty pics of this lovely blue-eyed beauty (which made choosing what pics to post very difficult!). Big brother, Jackson, tagged along too and I was thrilled to snap a few quick pics of this handsome boy. Looking forward to photographing the entire family in a couple of months.

First time at Davis Park

Thursdays photosession was special for my friend, Beth and her family...it was her daughter's 2nd birthday- Happy Birthday, sweet Audrey! This was also my first time to shoot at Davis Park and we had a ball (I think this may be my new favorite spot!). The weather was a bit overcast and we even had a few sprinkles, but it didn't do anything to dampen the mood. The kids were angels and cooperated so well! These two little ones will have a new sibling come December...I'm so excited for them. :)

Here are some of my favorites from the sessions I had right before my trip. ENJOY!

First up is my friend Heather, her daughters, sister and niece. These girls were so wonderful to photograph. Cynde, Heather's sister, wasn't feeling well that morning, but you'd never know from the pictures. She was a trooper and we got some really great shots. Heather is planning to use the pics for a Mother's Day gift. I hope she likes them!

Heather's girls are seriously the easiest children I have ever photographed...they will do pretty much whatever you ask and look lovely everytime. They are such dolls!

I originally came out to photograph baby Joseph, but since he was sick with a cold, we focused on big brother instead (why let a session go to waste?). I did, however, get a few shots of the two boys together before the baby was whisked off for a nap. I promise to post more of the little one once we do his re-shoot.

Last but not least is Amanda...my first senior to photograph. Her mom wanted a few shots of Amanda before prom last weekend, so that is what we did! She was a part of a large group, so I was able to get some pics of her with her friends. It was fun seeing all the kids excited about the night ahead but it also made me feel really old. What really freaked me out is the fact that my senior prom was a mere 15 years ago, and Grace is only 13 years away from hers!

Fun with Family Sessions

I was busy Saturday morning with two family photosessions and what a beautiful day it was for pictures! My first session was with Nicholas, a sweet almost one-year old little boy and his parents. This little guy was one of the happiest babies I've ever met...I captured lots of smiles so effortlessly with him.

Next up were my friends, the Halpins. They have two adorable boys and we had a blast exploring the trails around Prairie Creek. Joel Halpin is the pastor of a church called The Springs...it's a great new church with lots of exciting things going on...check it out if you can.

May Blooms Mini-Sessions

I'm am so excited to be offering these May Blooms Mini-Sessions. Here's the deal: I will have appointments available throughout Friday morning, May 2 and Saturday afternoon, May 3 at the Dallas Arboretum with sessions being about 15-20 minutes in length (children only, please). The price for these mini-sessions are $30 (each additional child is $5) and includes all of your images on cd. Please be aware that you will be responsible for admission for you and your children (kids under 3 are free), plus parking.* The meeting spot for this event will be at The DeGolyer Pergola which is number 12 on the map.
In case of rain or any other type of incliment weather, the make-up date for this event will be Saturday, May 10.

Sweet Sisters

I met two sweet AND gorgeous little girls yesterday and had such a fun time photographing them at their home. Big sis was incredibly sweet to little sis, and they were both so laid back and calm. Watching their mommy with the two of them took me down memory lane; not so long ago, I had a curious little two year-old and newborn to take care of...I miss those days sometimes!
